Upcoming Event

Some of you may have seen Colin's post about an upcoming trip to the Mancer Observatory. This post is to give everyone a bit of information about this trip, since it is going to be a Core-gathering event.

The initial plan is to go back to the Mancer Observatory for two reasons: to kill the plant monster in the records building, and to salvage as many useful things as possible. When the plant monster is killed, it will drop a Core, which will then need to be brought back to the Bastion. Initially, outside monsters will be too cautious to outright attack anyone going in or out of the Observatory. Once someone has the Core, though, they will hone in on that person and try to take the Core from them.

This event will take place on Day 156, which goes from Thursday, February 6th to Saturday, February 8th. Anyone is welcome to participate, and there are no sign-ups for doing so. Just tag into the event post when it goes up.

It is also worth noting that there will be some level of danger to this event. Characters may be seriously injured, or even outright killed, depending on the choices they make during the event. So if you decide to participate, be aware that serious mistakes could result in maiming or death.

I apologize for the fact that she will insist on trying to talk to the plant monster before agreeing to kill it.

On the other hand, she can make dead wood sprout again or pull the life out of plant matter and wither it, so at least she's helpful if she doesn't get herself seriously injured during that first thing?

Crona is going to try and destroy the plant. This means very loud noises so be warned if your character has sensitive hearing they will probably suffer.

ALSO: Crona has picked up a nifty little healing ability here! So if all ability uses don't get spent on fighting, massive healing is an option.

Polka is going along this time! She's going to be your resident woobie, and resident healer/mostly distance offense. She has some up-close attacks but she's really a lot better off working distance offense if she has to do any actual fighting.

Thing of note! She can only heal when she is in the light, and of course as with all of her abilities, it's limited to three times per day (not that she realizes that since she hasn't had to use too much of any of her abilities just yet). So if anyone needs healing, please to be bringing along a light source so she can do that.

Offense is okay in light or dark, she has attacks for both.

And it's worth noting that not everyone is going to go after the plant.

Colin's going to be keeping people with him in the hangar, to try and get a ship running.

With the possibility of a running fight all the way back to the Bastion, once they've got a core.... Colin's going to be working doubly hard on that.

Colin will welcome people in either part of the mission, so long as they play well with others.

I think the plan is for Aoi to go to the hangar because you can't exactly kick a man-eating plant, but you can kick most other monsters so when they start going after everyone, she can help.
