Check-in results, plot information, and some updates to the game
CHECK-IN
The check-in is now over. Everyone who did not respond to the check-in post (excluding those who apped in within the last month) have been swept from the game. Please take a moment to check the taken post and make sure all of your information is up-to-date.
"SICKNESS WITHIN" PLOT INFORMATION
Secondly, sign-ups for the upcoming event have been closed, and everyone has been messaged with their role. However, this does not mean that you have to sit out of this event if you did not sign up. Once the event is in full-swing, your character can still either become infected or help the caretakers care for the ill and/or search for the cure. Or you can have them react in other ways, if you would like.
Most of the information about the event was covered in the previous post, but we did forget one crucial bit of information: the symptoms of the disease. So, here is a quick timeline of how the disease progresses.
Days 1-4: There are no symptoms present.
Day 5: The infected starts to carry a fever of roughly 100 degrees Fahrenheit/ 37.7 degrees Celsius. Despite running a fever, they will feel chilly, have a constant cough, and be very tired. They will also suffer from a loss of appetite.
Day 6: The fever increases to 102 Fahrenheit/38.8 Celsius. Along with the chills and loss of appetite, they will be extremely lethargic, and unable to get out of bed or move around much.
Day 7: The fever stays steady at 102/38.8, and the symptoms persist. By the end of the day, either the person will be dead, or the fever will break.
Days 8-10: If the person survives, their fever will gradually go back down to normal. Appetite and strength will gradually return, and they will start to sleep less. By day 10, the person will be back to how they were before being infected.
If the medicine is found, the person's fever will break within six hours of ingesting it, and from there it will take three days to recover. There will also be no risk of death of the medicine is taken. Anyone who becomes infected and survives, regardless of if they took the medicine or not, will become immune to the disease.
You can use this post to plan out what you want to do during the event. Remember, Posts will go up on the 7th and the 17th, and if characters decide to go hunt for the medicine, a third post will go up then.
MODLY ANNOUNCEMENT/MINOR CHANGES TO THE GAME
Finally, we mods have been in discussion for the last week or so about some changes we are going to make to Bastion. They are all relatively minor changes, but we still ask that you read through this section, so that you can become acquainted with them.
1: Since the apartments are getting a little full, we added a third kind of housing to the Bastion. Go check out the housing post to see more about it. If you want to have your characters move into the new housing, just make a note of it on the housing page, and we will move them around on the list.
2: In the last 30 days, we've gotten twelve new apps. Twelve! Which is definitely a good thing, we love to see new apps. However, we have come to realize that our previous method of "read the apps whenever all the mods are on" just isn't going to work. It isn't fair to leave our players hanging for days on end, without any indication of when their apps are going to be read. So, we have decided that we will start doing app cycles.
Apps can still be posted at any time. However, we will only be reading and processing apps on every other Saturday, starting on June 7th. When we start to read the apps, we will put up a comment on the app page that says "Any apps posted after this comment will be read on [next app cycle date]." That way, you can be sure of when your app will be read.
Revisions will be given 72 hours to be posted, and will be read and processed by the following Thursday. For example, any apps processed on June 7th that need revisions will have until Tuesday the 10th to post them, and will be read by Thursday the 12th.
With this, we hope to speed up the application process for everyone.
3: When Bastion was first made, we decided that there would be no AC. At that time, Bastion was so small that we figured no AC was needed. With only a few players, nobody would really be vying for specific character spots, and since everyone knew everyone then it was easy to prod people into continuing threads. However, as Bastion has grown, so has its popularity, as well as the number of interested appers.
In the last month, two separate people have come to us about character squatters. They have expressed interest in playing characters that were already taken, but were not being played in threads. While we do have check-in posts to sweep those who have idled out, they do not help in the case of players who do respond but continue to be inactive.
We mods do not want to start requiring an AC. At this time, we do not have plans of implementing one. However, we are asking you, the players, to please be active. And if you find that you cannot be active, or that you have too much on your plate to play in Bastion for the time being, please use the drop post instead of waiting for the next check-in post to idle out. We are asking this because we trust you to take these concerns to heart and spend a bit more time playing here if activity has been a problem in the past for you.
If you have any questions about anything in this post, feel free to ask them below.

He will also tell her when to rest, because yes, I can totally see Zia working herself to the bone.

no guarantees for his success in getting her to make responsible decisions once his attitude about everything inevitably makes her cry though :'|
