First off, this post will function as a Check-in post. Please respond with your name and your characters' names to show that you do not want to be dropped from the game. You have until June 1st to respond. Anyone accepted after this post goes up (May 21st) does not have to respond, but if you want to you still can.
Secondly, we have another plot coming up soon. This plot will require a bit more prep work than usual, so we're putting up the details early. Please read through all of the information posted here.
On Day 196 (Saturday, June 7th), Nathaniel will be leading an expedition to recover a radio antenna and bring it to the Bastion, so that he can finish one of his projects. Should it succeed, every character will be given a small, compass-like device, which will always point towards the radio tower set up in the Bastion. Theoretically, this should help with the problem of people getting lost on the Skyway.
However, while this happens, the people who go on that trip will be exposed to a deadly disease. Not everyone will catch it, but at least one person will, and they will bring it back to the Bastion. On Day 200, Patient Zero will begin to show symptoms of the disease, and anyone who came in contact with them has a chance of being infected as well.
This disease is a particularly nasty one. Without proper care to keep it from infecting others, it has a 50% chance of spreading to anyone that an infected person comes in contact with. If it is left untreated, it has a 30% mortality rate.
Fortunately, a cure for this disease does exist! But finding any remaining doses of that cure may prove to be difficult, and even looking for it means risking infection. So, the uninfected will have to make an important choice: try to help their sick friends, or cut their loses and try to keep others from falling ill.
For this event, we have several important roles that need to be filled. Basically, we need a Patient Zero, people to get sick, and people to either care for the sick or risk looking for the cure. More information about those roles, as well as signups for them, can be found here.
This plot will take place over most of the month of June. If the characters decide to hunt for the cure, they will have until July 1st to find it and bring it back to the Bastion.
Please note that you do not need to sign up to participate. Signups are for the characters who will play vitally important roles within the plot. They will be more involved with it, but as a trade-off will have a higher risk of death. Your characters can still participate in minor roles without signing up.
Finally, please be aware that the perma-death rule is not being waved. If your character dies during this plot, they will stay dead permanently. If you are looking to drop a character, this would be the perfect time to do so in a plot-important way.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to post them in the 'questions or comments' thread, which can be found right here.
