The original NPCs of the Bastion have been all a buzz as of late, and there's good reason for that: though things have been destroyed, this would be the time of the year when their yearly Harvest Festival would be happening. A big deal to both Cael and Ura alike (though for vastly different reasons) they are happily inviting everyone new and old to participate in their celebration. Hence why recently many of you have been approached by Serena, the NPC that runs the temple.
This festival isn't just some piddly one day gathering, either. They've been gearing up for this for a long time, and starting on Day 143 (December 29th) the entire Bastion will be transformed for a five day festival. (Which is fifteen days out of character)
So rather than just hurling people out in to the festival without any expectations of what's going to happen, we're listing the festival days, dates, and events so they can be looked at before the festival begins!
Below the cut, there will be a list of events taking place each day (along with some other pertinent details) and should you so wish within this post you'll be able to toss out ideas at others regarding the festival and your characters. Of course nothing is set in stone, this is just so people have ideas to work with going in instead of trying to figure things out as the days come along.
Day 1 - Day of Plenty and Chance (Day 143/Dec 29th-31st)
PRESENTS: Anyone who chose Rothaus and Olak as their patron gods will receive their gifts in the Gazebo today.
*Pyth the Mechanical Bull will need to be brought to the Bastion from a location on the Skyway. People can offer themselves up for this task. There will be no monster attacks, but it will not be an easy task, especially for anyone not all that technically gifted. This is a special quest and those who go to retrieve him will find themselves gifted with extra shards for their troubles.
-For the remainder of the festival, there will be a challenge to everyone to try to survive in a pit the longest on him. Those who don't get struck by the bull the longest will receive a special prize at the end of the day.
There seems to be an awful lot of decorations that depict a shapely, beautiful woman either along side the bull, or actually riding him. These decorations will stay throughout the festival. On day one, though, pinwheels will also be present everywhere, along with a lot of thick, leafy branches twining around buildings and other structures, especially around the distillery and kitchen.
That said, there is also a massive long table outside. Think Nordic style, all of heavy wood and intricate designs. And on that long table? Food. So. Much. Food. More than anyone in the Bastion has seen since the Calamity. Where did it come from? Who cares! It's food. Food and a lot of drink. Booze everywhere? Booze everywhere! Who the hell cares that there are underage children at this thing, BOOZE EVERYWHERE. There are stacks and stacks of plates, baskets of utensils, and everything including the food and drink seems to magically replenish whenever some one isn't looking long enough. There is meat! (Yes, even mammoth meat) Don't like meat? There's vegetables, tofu, fish, fruit... basically anything you can imagine, it's there. Stuff your faces, these are going to be the best meals you've had in months and probably will be the last great meal you have for several more months.
Speaking of buffets that rival that of Norse gods, there's also GAMBLING! Yes, suddenly the Bastion is Vegas, with steampunk style slot machines, card tables, dice tables and everything else in between! The only catch? You can only play with your own personal shards, and the odds are almost always in the houses' favor. For the smaller children, they can spend a shard each to play other more kid-friendly games like ones you'd find in a carnival (but much less rigged). There also seems to be a constant, calm, softly playing stream of music coming from somewhere, though no one will be able to find the source of it. It's all very gentle tunes, instrumental and without vocalization.
Also, residents might become aware that as they're leaving their homes or places of residence to join in on the festival, they'll suddenly have a small silver chain bracelet shoved in to their hands, some how exactly their wrist size - no bigger, no smaller. It's light, but it won't break easily, and it's highly recommended that it stay worn throughout the festival and even beyond it. Why? Well, you'll find out sooner or later.
Most of the festivities take place during the day, including retrieving Pyth and the gambling. As the day winds down in to "night" via cloud cover, one might notice that Ura-raised NPCs have taken on strips of red cloth around their upper arms, and seem to be far more somber than their fellow Cael survivors.
For the younger residents of the Bastion, they will find themselves gifted with red hooded cloaks, designed to mimic a bull. Suddenly everything is like Easter for them, but instead of eggs they must find small hidden gears all over the Bastion. A booth will be set up near the temple that Serena will be running, and those gears can be turned in for small prizes like candy and little toys (most of them having something to do with Rothaus and Olak).
For the adults, there will be a chance to actually bet on the bull vs the people going up against Pyth. There's also an eating contest, as if we need more excuse to stuff our faces.
As the evening winds down, the younger children will be encouraged to sleep outside, and will be told stories of Rothaus and Olak and their various godly adventures in the world before the walls and the holes until they fall asleep. Drinks will be refilled for the older crowd.
If anyone was awake around "midnight" before all this started, they will have witnessed a tall metal torch of various intricate designs: a gear on one side, and a bullhead on the other. One of the Ura (or Serena) will be welcome to light this torch at the top where a spiky star resides. If neither lights it, the Bastion will do so itself. It happens again when night falls on the first day, with two more torches with Roathus' and Olak's symbols along with the gear and bull arrive to be lit.
Day 2 - Day of Hope and Bravery (Day 144/Jan 1st-3rd)
PRESENTS: If anyone had Yudrig and Lemaign, their presents will be in the gazebo shortly after midnight.
Once again, at midnight, another torch arrives - this time with a horse along with the gear and bullhead. As before, they are welcome to be lit by an Ura, or Serena. Some of the other decorations fade out, to be replaced by Yugrid or Lemaign-specific decorations like horseshoes, saddles, hammers and plants made of colored metal. This will continue to happen throughout the festival, with new decorations overshadowing old ones, but the old ones still remaining here and there.
During the previous day, conversations with a any of the NPCs (or the recently arrived Uras) will bring up the topic of the second day of the festival. Should you care to listen, you'll learn that they use the very early morning of this day to make wishes, wishes that you must think in to a horseshoe that will be left on the side of your home that faces where the "sun" would be rising (the closest approximation to "east").
Speaking of horses! There seems to be a pen with stallions! Unlike Pyth, one must ride one of these stallions and try to stay on it as long as they can while it bucks and jumps about wildly. Good luck to whoever can manage this, it is not an easy task at all! Only one person can win Yudrig's favor, because at the end of the day the stallions will all take off back to... wherever they came from. The person that manages to stay the longest, though, will win a lovely pair of Yudrig boots, and will gain a single very fast horse for the Bastion to keep.
Along with the horses, there will also be races! Three legged races, races while balancing odd objects on spoons, so many races! Most of these are for the kids to make up for the lack of kid-focused things from the day before, but adults are encouraged to help and participate.
Incidentally, respect is also given to those considered soldiers. Be it by their own mental thinking ("I am a soldier for justice/I am a protector, etc") or by their actual title (this includes exorcists, exorcists in training, rebel leaders, etc) but they will be honored on this day for their bravery, commitment and efforts. The same goes for masons. There will be a table set up with charms for the bracelets, specifically hammer shaped ones - everyone is welcome to take one, but anyone who isn't of this persuasion may find them too heavy to wear. The charm can be removed, though, but remember to keep the bracelet!
With that in mind, about midday the center of the Bastion will be cleared and people will be asked if they would like to participate in a game of "Defend Lemaign". It's basically Capture the Flag, but with a singular goal in mind - only one team has a "flag" (actually a small hammer statue) and that team must defend it from the other team. Teams can be any size, but once that statue is grabbed and brought to the other side, OR the timer runs out with Lemaign still within his "temple" the game is over. This will continue throughout the afternoon.
When evening falls again, the second torch for the day will appear to be lit, this one decorated with hammers as well as the standard gear and bull. The day begins to wind down, though there are once again other things to do - this time an entire area dedicated to various sizes of building blocks ranging from small to huge. Go nuts, build what you want, show off your creations! And keep them, they will come in handy later! This is not just for kids, even if it seems like it.
There's also jousting taking place. Nothing as dangerous as true jousting - just wooden horses on tracks that have to be manually pushed along (so be sure to take a willing friend with you) and padded poles that strike padded armor. Winners will find more charms for those bracelets that were given out as their prize, and five shards per win.
Also, something to keep in mind: Since the day is focused around bravery quite a bit, anyone who shows off a particularly awesome show of bravery (be it personal like asking some one out that you like, facing a mild fear and not running away from it, or something even more spectacular) you will inexplicably find your entire room decorated with horseshoes. Horseshoes everywhere. Why? Yudrig, that's why.
And anyone who visits Lemagin's shrine, for whatever reason, will find themselves inexplicably hit with a wave of optimism. Just for the day, though.
This night winds down much the same as before, and again the children are encouraged to sleep outside while lulled to sleep by tales of Yudrig and Lemagin's adventures.
Day 3 - Day of Pleasure and Purpose (Day 145/Jan 4-7th)
PRESENTS: If you chose Garmuth or Hense, this will be the day your presents arrive in the gazebo.
The next lamp appears, this time with mirrors on one side.
Speaking of roses there are roses everywhere in the Bastion, almost completely obscuring any of the previous decorations. They're still there, just... buried. Behind bushes, next to vases, under mounds of rose petals. You can't escape it! They won't do anything bad to you, of course, but you might start finding rose petals in your hair, in your pockets, or lingering on your clothes as the day goes by. Mirrors also join the decorations, but besides that, all reflective surfaces (windows and mirrors) will suddenly have clearer reflections, and be decorated in rose borders. Unfortunately this means looking through actual windows will be a mite difficult as you'll see reflections more than you'll see the other side of them.
Today will also be a day of blindfold games! Guess the object! Guess how many are in this box! Place this thing in that thing! All without looking! Prizes will be given out to those who get through these blindfold games - another charm for your bracelet, and maybe two or three shards per win.
Along with these games, there's one big challenge in the center of the Bastion - a giant thorny maze. Should you brave this mess, you'll find twists, turns, awkward corners and areas just barely big enough to walk through. However if you make it to the center, you'll find a small wooden chest, and be rewarded with a rose ring. And not just any rose ring. This thing is special! It will allow a user to call upon rose thorn vines that will attack an enemy at will. It is restricted to three times a day on the Skyway, but it will come in very handy, especially for those with no real defensive or offensive capabilities. (That said, if your character manages to get this item and doesn't need it or want it for whatever reason, please be kind and give it to some one who can use it or does want it.)
As day winds in to night, another torch appears, this time with roses. Roses going wild on this lamp. It makes it a little difficult to light, though. And oddly enough, near the gear symbol on this lamp... the roses seem to be withered. Huh.
Dinner gives way in to a sort of "desert" for the evening, a huge selection of cookies in various flavors on tables all over the place, along with tubs of rose petal ice cream that don't seem to melt no matter how long they stay out.
But those cookies are not just any cookies - they are hollow ones. They're backed with a thin indented line down the center of them, and snapping them at this point will reveal that there is paper tucked inside. It will give advice to your character that is shockingly accurate to this person, some how. Regardless of who gets it, the advice will be pertinent to them and really only them. From there you'll be encouraged to take a second piece of paper, write your fears, weaknesses or secrets that you don't wish to tell anyone yet wish to get off your chest and then drop them in a strange mirror-decorated box sitting near the monument. If you do so, you'll find yourself oddly sleeping easier tonight...
This night closes out the same as the previous ones, with stories for the children as the adults relax in to the wee hours of the morning.
Day 4 - Day of Health and Oaths (Day 146/Jan 8th-11th)
PRESENTS: Those who picked Acobi and Jevel will have their presents awaiting in the gazebo
Yet another torch arrives in the wee morning hours, this one decorated with chains.
Today, the eldest of the Bastion and the youngest of the Bastion are gifted with another charm for their bracelets.
As for games, it seems to be strategy games all over the place! Games much like Earthly counterparts, such as Go, Shogi, Mahjong, Chess (even a 3D chess-like game, should you be so brave as to try it), Checkers, Risk (et al). Winners of these games will get a few more shards to add to their respective collections.
And there will also be a massive tower in the center of the Bastion, designed much like a climbing wall. Get to the top and retrieve the pendant in the set amount of time, and you'll earn another charm towards your bracelet!
As an extra to the ladies of the Bastion, there will be two special things exclusively for them - first off, Pyth will only be usable by ladies. Anyone who identifies as male will simply not receive a reaction from Pyth should they step in to the pit. AND there will also be a special tug of war game for ladies only, using a chain. Acobi is the God of Abandon, and as such women will be free to do whatever they want today, regardless of their upbringing or beliefs. Go nuts, girls! The girls who win the tug of war will also get another charm, as well as two shards per person on the team that wins.
ALSO REMEMBER THOSE BUILDING BLOCKS FROM DAY 2? Bring them out, pick a side, and set them up like a castle because we're gonna be playing CASTLE CRASHERS. Only without a video game system, obviously. Basically there will be little mini catapults and various weapon launchers that you will use to shoot things at the other side. There's no real winner for this one, it's just for fun and silliness.
Evening will bring the next torch, this one adorned with a tower, and a massive feast of much healthier food and drink than what's been offered up until. Even if you eat and drink a great deal, you'll find yourself lacking any hangovers or stomach aches the following morning.
The soft music that's been playing every day of the festival will suddenly quit at around "5pm", and the remainder of the night will be filled with live music played by the NPCs, and even a few PCs should they choose to join in. The music will be in the gazebo with seats set up all around it like an outdoor performance stage, but with enough room up front for spontaneous dancing.
The night ends with this joyful celebration to close out the festival.
Day 5 - Day of Rest (Day 147/Jan 12-15th)
PRESENTS: If you chose Micia or no god/goddess your present will be in the gazebo. If you did not choose a god and a present you'd better go look anyway. :|
No lantern appears early this morning, and the festivities, while amazing and quite fun, have certainly left everyone a bit exhausted. Today is as much a day of cleaning as it is a day of rest. The Bastion itself will go back to relative normalcy on it's own, but parties always leave some mess behind, so be kind and help your NPCs with clean up would you?
There will also be left over food from Jevel, things for an easy and hassle free lunch, but nothing terribly heavy or fattening.
Pyth has gone quiet, and no amount of rousing will wake him. Yet he remains, even after the festival is gone.
The final torch will appear, but during mid day when no one is looking. There will only be a bull adorning it, and no gear. When midnight rolls around, every single light will go out at once, and anyone who might observe the lights vanishing may have a strange feeling, one that is a mixture of fright and yet comfort, as if something greater than themselves loves them. Should anyone inspect the bullhead ornaments on the lights, they'll come to notice that the last light is the only one with a bull whose eyes are closed.
The festival officially closes up at midnight with the dousing of those lights, and the NPCs will thank everyone for a successful and fun festival.
Oh, but what of the bracelets and those odd charms everyone was collecting?
Well those bracelets are special, like the Rose Ring from Hense's labyrinth. For each charm that the person has on their bracelet, there is a small gem attached to the charm itself. It matches the general color scheme of the god that bestowed it, and glows with an ethereal light. Should something occur on the Skyway, and the wearer wind up in danger, there will be a flash of light and they will find themselves protected. It doesn't last long, and once it's over the light fades from the gem, never to occur again.
Enjoy your many gifts, everyone. Once this festival ends, things are going to go back to normal...
EDIT: So we forgot something! The chain bracelets you get are also part of Acobi's new years resolutions. On Acobi's day, you'll add one more charm that is not part of the protection charms you'll be receiving throughout. It will be a little secret compartment charm that will have a paper that you can write your resolution for the new year on and place it inside.
This festival isn't just some piddly one day gathering, either. They've been gearing up for this for a long time, and starting on Day 143 (December 29th) the entire Bastion will be transformed for a five day festival. (Which is fifteen days out of character)

They're backed with a thin indented line down the center of them, and snapping them at this point will reveal that there is paper tucked inside.

From:Paarthurnax Plotting!
Date: 2013-12-28 05:04 am (UTC)Someone help him tie this bracelet thing onto his horn. Also? Help him shovel all the meat you can possibly shovel into his gaping maw. He doesn't want to accidentally eat the entire table, wood and all.
Day 2:
DEFEND LEMAIGN. PAARTHURNAX VS ALL OF YOU. LET'S DO IT. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. Paar will also be available if anyone wants to use a jousting steed that isn't a wooden horse.
Day 3:
Paar can't really participate in any of the games for today... But if anyone wants to make him a rose flower crown, he won't say no.
Day 4:
Paar will be able to climb the tower in a scarily quick amount of time, because dragon. But if anyone wants to teach him any of these strategy games, he'd love to play! So long as anyone is willing to move the itty bitty tiny little pieces for him, anyway.
Day 5:
Paar is more than happy to help with cleaning, because he is a responsible old man.

From:Saix Plotting!
Date: 2013-12-28 05:19 am (UTC)Day 1:
Fuck you, Pyth, he'll take you on. Saix might get a bit competitive, too... Also, someone needs to encourage Saix to gamble. Please do that. When he isn't doing more exciting things, Saix is totally going to stuff all the food from the feast into his apartment freezer. He recognizes a chance when he sees it.
Day 2:
Saix doesn't know how to ride horses. Please laugh at him as he attempts this. Also races maybe??? idk
Day 3 :
This is going to be a special day because this is the day Saix gets his gift and it's going to be a bit special... So if you want him at his most approachable and actually TRYING to be friendly and sociable, this is the day. He'll end up having a blue rose in his hair and not remember how it got there. Don't talk to him about what he gets in his advice cookie.
Day 4:
Tower climbing! He'll also give totally unneeded advice to any of the women facing against Pyth.
Day 5:
He's mostly coming down to check out the state of hte food and if there's anything else he can squirrel away in his freezer (also known as the college student's way of food) but you can probably get him to help out if you ask. Day 3 will have left him with lots of thoughts.

Date: 2013-12-28 05:33 am (UTC)Day 1:
- Viola will be helping attempt to wrangle Pyth to bring him into the Bastion. After that, she'll be moving back and forth between the food/booze and the bull ring, betting on other people's bull rides and trying again herself. She'll probably be pretty drunk and rowdy by the end of the day.
Day 2:
- Hungover or no, Viola will be up early making to make wishes. After that, it's off to the stallions to see if she can wrangle one of those. She'll be out playing other games too. This is Viola's gift day and she'll be active and all over the place with her gift tucked under one arm. Her gift is very relevant to her canonmates.
Day 3:
- Viola's hair will be shedding rosepetals all day. She'll be attemtpting to brave the maze and probably won't do so well.
Day 4:
- Moar games! Viola will be playing tug of war with any other ladies interested. She may try the tower as well. Don't expect her anywhere near the strategy games though. Thanks to Acobi's influence, she'll probably be extra talkative, perhaps even of personal feelings she usually keeps secret.
Day 5:
- Viola will be helping clean, as well as enjoying the leftover food. Her boundless energy will probably have slackened by this day.

- Aside from eating a little bit, Zelda will probably be keeping to herself, just watching everyone else do their things. She'll be up late watching the torches too.
Day 2:
- Zelda will be up at dawn to make a wish. She'll be most interested in watching the jousting and get really into it. She'll watch most games, but won't join in.
Day 3:
- A white rose will be blooming in Zelda's hair, tucked behind one ear. Zelda will receive her gift today and carry it with her. Its presence gives her courage to join in with people. She can be found at the blindfold games and may even try the maze. She'll have plenty to write tonight with the cookies.
Day 4:
- Strategy games are Zelda's forte. Even games she doesn't know, she'll master quickly. Her best are chess, mahjong, and Risk. Later in the night, she will dance at the gazebo, thanks to Acobi's influence. She will spend the rest of the night with the music and will even want to play if her instruments of choice are available.
Day 5:
- She won't offer to help with cleaning, but she will be milling around all the same.

From:Aoi plotting!
Date: 2013-12-28 05:50 am (UTC)Day 1:
She'll be part of the crew bringing back Pyth! And then she's going to spend all day fighting in the pit with him, with breaks for gorging herself. It's okay if she eats a lot if she's working it all off, right!!! Right. Yes. And that's why she's absolutely entering the eating contest. She really likes food but she won't win, but she will proceed to spend a solid thirty minutes in successive rounds with Pyth. She's proooobably staying sober.
Day 2:
Guess who's participating in EVERY RACE??? It's Aoi. Of course it's Aoi. She used to do track and field so she's in her element here! And she will definitely be taking advantage of that horse-riding too. She'll be going hard as hell in Defend Lemaign (probably on the team getting the flag if she has a choice). By "hard as hell" I mean "are there fouls in Defend Lemaign because if not you're probably going to have to institute them because Aoi just kicked someone over."
JOUSTING, OH MY GOODNESS JOUSTING, who wants to push her ridiculous jousting horse around? She'll be going out of her way to offer to push horses around for anyone who needs someone, too.
Building is not on her list of priorities but if anyone wants to rope her into it or just get her to carry the heavy blocks, feel free.
I'm gonna figure out something brave for her to do, too, to get her room filled with horseshoes. I swear I am.
Day 3:
Hense is Aoi's goddess so she's gonna try to do her best today! Except everything here is the exact opposite of her forte, oh god, blindfold games? Mazes? Sports...sports??? Sports......... :( She'll get herself hopelessly lost in the rose maze for sure. If someone'll show her how to make flower crowns, she's going to make tons of them! YOU GET A FLOWER CROWN, YOU GET A FLOWER CROWN
Aaand naturally she's going to completely gorge herself on the desserts. And fight Pyth for another good half hour, forty-five minutes.
Day 4:
AW NO NOT PUZZLES, SHE'S GARBAGE AT PUZZLES, so she's going to be on the climbing wall instead! (And, of course, taking advantage of Pyth's lady preference. Less people waiting in line means more Pyth fights for her.) Of course she'll be part of the tug of war, and she'll be dragging every girl into it.
Day 5:
Aoi's probably going to spend most of today passed out and recovering from all her bruises and exercise, SORRY ABOUT THE MESS
I wrote a lot, oh no, I'm so sorry. I'm so excited about sports.........

Day one: will totally rock the red cloak, and will probably end up with a bunch of random items from searching out gears. (IF SHE CAN KEEP THIS CLOAK, THIS CLOAK WILL NEVER LEAVE-) might play one or two games. She'll be available for sitting with and story listening.
Day two:
Severely tempted to have her sneak onto one of the horses. She is remarkably good at staying on! She might settle in the shrine for a little bit, with that wave of optimism, and will once again be out at night.
Day three:
She will end up stuck in the maze, and insist she is not stuck. How she managed to fit where she is in the first place, will be up to all to guess...
Sleeping outside again.
Day Four:
She's going to try the 'ladies only things', so maybe someone should keep an eye on her when they see her eyeing Pyth-
Tris:
Day One:
Avoiding anything that seems remotely alcoholic. But also inspecting all the food, HOW DOES IT LOOK LIKE THIS WAS COOKED?? No gambling, but she'll also stay up for some of the stories
Day Two:
Tris thinks most of this athletic stuff is a bit much, and will stand aside for the most part. Building, she might do okay at. IDK what she'd make though XD
She'll still stay up part of the night for stories.
Day Three:
Tris might head into the maze, but probably out of curiosity. Can she learn anything from this?
Day Four:
Tris will look at that tower, and hahahaha. No. She will be available for tug of war.
Duke:
Day One:
No gambling, very likely only light drinking. The knight might be convinced to try to play dodge-the-Pyth.
Day Two:
Will end up with one of the soldier hammers. Might try the horse related stuff, even if horses don't look quite right. Duke will need to be persuaded into "capture the flag", but more willing to help out with jousting.
Day Three:
Not up to much this day-
Day Four:
Duke will make an attempt at the tower, then be rather absent when it is clear that there are ladies only games.
All will be available for cleanup!

Date: 2013-12-28 06:40 am (UTC)DAY 2: Colin will try the horse-riding, but he's not exactly a talented rider. That said, he knows how to hold onto wild rides for dear life, so he might make a decent showing. Otherwise, he'll help out for the kids and anyone who needs a push during jousting. When NIGHT comes, though? He will build the SHIT out of those blocks.
DAY 3: IS EVERYONE GETTING MARRIED?! Seriously, all these flowers in peoples' hair is going to confuse the heck out of him because that's part of the Elerian marriage proposal custom. He... will remove himself from the games today, though. His eye makes it way too easy to cheat, and while he has no problem cheating normally, this is the gods' festival and he's not gonna disrespect that. They deserve their fun too. He'll help other people out, though.
DAY 4: Colin and Paarth are probably the Eldest people in the Bastion, so it's time for another charm. He'll love today, though. He's a pretty heavy fan of most strategy games, even if he's not the brightest of tacticians. He'll spend a lot of today playing games with people. He'll also tackle that climbing wall, since he figures he needs to keep his climbing skill up to snuff anyway. This is probably his laziest day.
DAY 5: CLEAN UP ALL THE THINGS! Colin will be quick to help clean the place up. He's not about to leave other people to cleaning up after him. He'll also visit the shrine to tell the gods that it was a good festival, and that he hopes they had a good time.

From:Zulf plotting!
Date: 2013-12-28 06:57 am (UTC)ALSO when it gets "night", just like the Ura NPCS, Zulf will also be switching out for a bit of red. He'll be wearing a red neck string around his shirt color, and a string tied on the ring finger of his right hand. Go ahead and ask him about it. That'll be fun.
NOW FOR FESTIVAL DAYS.
Day 1:
Zulf will help any kids find gears to collect, and he'll also be on standby to help patch up anyone who's feeling a bit too beat up by Pyth.
Day 2:
You know who's going to put up a horseshoe in the early morning? This guy. You know who's going to quietly talk to the stallions? This loser. Some might also see Zulf quietly taking an extra chain and hammer charm, although he won't wear it himself... And then stomping back to grab another (that he still won't wear). It seems these charms aren't for him, personally. You can also find him at the shrine a lot.
Day 3 :
This loser is going to end up with so many roses in his skirts, someone help.
Day 4:
Again on standby to help anyone who's feeling roughed up from the tug of war or fighting Pyth! Ladies, he will be your backup because this is your day.
Day 5:
Wow are any of my muses going to be lazy, I guess not. Zulf will also be helping with clean up! This is also the day he will be getting his gift, so he'll probably stop halfway through to stare at it a lot. He'll also have put himself in charge of putting out the lights, so if anyone wants to see them all suddenly go out without resident interference... Maybe walk with this guy. The event will leave him a bit odd. Religion, man.

From:night plotting!!!
Date: 2013-12-28 07:20 am (UTC)Night will leave the bull catching up to the few who have already volunteered to bring it down. She will however be more than happy to throw herself in that pit. Nothing like being chased by a bull to work up that festival spirit.
She will also be stuffing her face full of food. You probably won't see her without something in hand (a good example). Where does it all go? Probably down the black hole she calls her stomach.
That also means she's going to enter that eating contest.
day 2
Night doesn't care much for horses so she'll be pretty quiet during this day. Mostly she'll be off to the side (eating) watching everyone have fun with the horses and horse-related activities.
day 3
Night will be making a lot of rose crowns for anybody who would like one. Still pretty quiet this day too.
day 4
Acobi is her goddess so she'll definitely be a little more active this day. She'll sign up for tug of war, but I will put down a warning that Night is stupidly strong. Depending on who she's up against (someone who is human, for example) she'll probably use half her strength against them because otherwise it just isn't fair.
When the performances start she'll be a little slow to join in, but a little tugging should fix that pretty quickly.
day 5
She'll be around to help clean up definitely. Probably keep a lot of the leftover roses for some innocent purpose.

She'll probably also be awake to see the torches get lit.
Day 2: Rin gets a charm for being an exorcist in training. She also wants to try jousting, though who knows how good she'll be at it. She will attempt to build... something. But it won't be very good.
Day 3: GODDAMN THAT'S A LOTTA ROSES AROUND but it sure is pretty. Rin wants to try the labyrinth, and the blindfold games, so she'll be around those.

From:PLOTTING: Polka and Hilda
Date: 2013-12-28 07:51 am (UTC)Day 01
Polka: Did some checking, she and Hilda both seem to fall into the higher end of the spectrum for "younger" children. She probably won't do much else other than wander around curiously, eat, and participate more during the evening activities.
Hilda: She will offer herself and her pokeymans up for helping to carry Pyth from the Skyway! Also someone please force booze on her and get her drunk, I really want you guys to deal with drunk giggly Hilda.
Day 02
Polka: Polka likes the ponies, but I don't think she'll chance riding one. It would be fun to watch, though. She wouldn't last long at all. She'll likely join in on the races, though! She's also going to be in on the given respect end of things considering her canon history and what she did/was willing to do for her world back home. No doubts here ever. ALSO I WANT BOTH GIRLS PLAYING DEFEND LEMAIGN. I think it'd be interesting.
Hilda: I don't see Hilda getting on a stallion without some major encouragement. Anyone wanna encourage this? She may also participate in races too, and will vehemently deny that she is a soldier of any sort and try to insist that her pokemon deserve more praise than she does. Aaaaand definitely playing Defend Lemaign. She might try Jousting too!
I also totally put the idea in Jeni's head of Zoroark trying to joust. Let's encourage this, folks.
Day 03
Polka: I want her to get herself into the maze. I really want this. I'd LIKE it if she made her way through it, but that remains to be seen? If she does manage to make it through though, Polka will like the ring, but would be more than willing to give it to anyone who doesn't have great offensive capabilities because she's actually pretty strong on her own with her powers on the Skyway. She'll definitely get in on the fears thing. The girl needs to get all of her fears out somehow.
Hilda: Her patron god is Garmuth, so she will be getting her gift today! I think more than anything Lilil will be the one getting involved in most of the days' activities, her being a grass-type Pokemon and all. She'd love the excess of roses. FELLOW POKEMON TRAINERS, I propose that the Pokemon have a bit of fun on one or more of these days together! We have pokemans, we definitely should take advantage of this. Hilda will probably take it easy today, enjoy the desserts, get her advice and write her fears, and let her pokemon have fun.
Day 04
Polka: Her patron god is Jevel, so she will be getting her gift today! Polka might also try her hand at the strategy games once she gets the hang of the rules. She'd probably do better at them then Hilda would, anyway. She'd probably get involved in tug of war, too, since she is a little lady! And she'll definitely love being around for the music.
Hilda: Hilda's going to skip the strategy games. Girl doesn't even really rely on strategy in Pokemon battles, she just powers through them and makes decisions on the fly. The strategy games would probably frustrate her. She will absolutely be in on tug of war, though, and she'll definitely enjoy the music with her pokemans
And Nas well ~Day 05
Polka: Yeah she's going to help clean up. She's a sweetie like that.
Hilda: Totally offering her and her Pokemon up for cleaning duty too.
Re: PLOTTING: Polka and Hilda

Day 3: Blindfold games sound fun, but he should probably dragged off to do more things, too.
Day 4: Also gonna be all up on those strategy games hell yeah. And if he gets pulled in to building something on day 2, he'll join in on the castle crasher games. :3
Day 5: also gonna help with the cleaning. Of course.

Date: 2013-12-28 05:37 pm (UTC)It would be pretty easy to talk her into going on the quest at the beginning of the day, so if anyone would like to do that...
Then, branches around all the buildings, you say? They will lean a bit toward Rosethorn as she passes, and you might find her talking to them, asking why exactly they've decided to cover everything in sight.
She'll be on standby with bandages and medicines during all the bullfighting foolishness, not particularly approving. She has stomach settling medicines, too, but... we'll see just how inclined she is to provide those to people who were silly enough to bring stomachaches on themselves through completely gorging on food.
Day 2
Rosethorn doesn't consider herself a soldier, but she has served as a battle mage and would do so again. Her vows include defense and protection as much as they do healing and feeding. She will probably be able to lift and wear one of the hammer charms.
Day 3
Continuing the trend from Day 1, today roses can be seen turning or leaning toward Rosethorn. Plants really love her. And she's even more of a rose-petal magnet than most. If you want to find her sternly lecturing the multitude of petals clinging to her robes about their behavior, be my guest.
If anything scented or plant-based is in those blindfold games, Rosethorn will do very well at them.
She also has a distinct advantage when it comes to the thorn maze, and rather than dashing through it on a mission, she walks through at a somewhat more leisurely pace, letting the plants tell her where they are. She still has to solve the maze, but it's a much easier task when you can sense the next few turnings before you get to them. The ring, when she gets to the center, does pretty much exactly the same thing as her own primary offensive magic, so she may or may not give it away once she's tried it out.
Rosethorn also investigates the withering roses on the lamp pretty closely, seeing if she can coax them back into health.
Day 4
She'll try her hand at one or two of the strategy games, but Rosethorn is staying well away from that climbing wall.
Spectating the music and the dancing sounds like a lovely way to spend the evening. You're welcome to try and convince her to dance if you like.
Day 5
If she gets her gift, you'll find her wrapped in a shawl and more than a little homesick on the last day. She'll also be either calmer or more prickly than usual, depending on how you approach.

Date: 2013-12-29 12:17 am (UTC)He won't really be gambling much, though he might drink a bit. Not too much, though.
Day 2: AZ will probably be especially somber this day, given the focus on soldiers. He'll probably be extra gentle around Floette, who will likely not be very happy on this day. She has her own memories of war, after all.
He won't joust, but he'll be happy to push anyone who'd like to. He'll watch the game of Defend Lemaign, but probably won't participate unless he's asked.
Day 3: A confused AZ will have a Pokemon egg carefully tucked in a jacket pocket today. He might try the maze, I don't know. But he will likely have petals all over him. At least Floette will be happy with all of these flowers.
Day 4: AZ will watch strategy games for a while, and then eventually get into it. He'll stay away from Risk, but gods help you if you underestimate the old man at chess. He'll also likely play the castle crashers game and he will probably take it way too seriously.
He'll also help clean up a bit.

Date: 2013-12-29 12:28 am (UTC)Day 2: Ryu has an unfair advantage with animals sob. But he'll be both trying to ride and trying to calm the horses. He'll also be participating in whatever races he can because he can get a little competitive. He doesn't consider himself a soldier, just a fighter. It's different in his mind. He will also take part in Defend Lemaign.
Let's go, dragongrandpa. He'll push people for jousting and probably try a few rounds himself.Day 3: Ryu will probably take on the maze. If he manages to get through it he'll probably give his ring away, he doesn't really need it. Also someone teach him about ice cream
he probably won't like it.Day 4: RYU IS BAD AT STRATEGY GAMES he will also be confused as to why there are separate things for girls. He'll do that climbing wall though.
He can probably be badgered into helping clean up too. He'll be content with his present.

Date: 2013-12-29 01:33 am (UTC)In general: Crona is in the "younger" age range. Also Ragnarok is going to drink way too much, meaning both of them are going to be kind of continually in various stages of impaired and hungover throughout the festival. THANKS RAGNAROK.
Crona has two bracelets on (one for hirself, one for Ragnarok).
Day 1 This is Ragnarok's day. Way too much food, way too much booze, he's getting a huge bag of candy as a present from his god. Crona is going to just kind of let Ragnarok do whatever today. And then get into a shouting match with him because wow someone is not a happy drunk.
Day 2 This is Crona's day! Wishing very early in the morning. Hammer charms for both of them. Castle building.
Maybe doing something brave (KISS THE GIRL).
Day 3 Rose maze! Crona is going to be the best at the rose maze.
Day 4 Someone needs to teach Crona strategy games. And maybe someone who assumes Crona is female should try and get hir to do the tug of war or something.
Day 5 Crona will help with clean up. Ragnarok will complain.

Date: 2013-12-30 06:16 pm (UTC)DAY 1 booze and betting oh my this isn't a very ishimaru day at all. He'll spend most of his time fretting over those who challenged Pyth.
DAY 2 Ok, this is better. He picks up a soldier charm and alternates between cheering on and participating in the races. And when Defend Lemaign starts he... will watch but not actually join unless someone invites him to. SOMEONE INVITE THIS LOSER.
DAY 3 He attempts the maze! Using the good ol' classic method of following the left wall. Can't put his hand on it though, it's far too thorny.
DAY 4 He picks up the rules of the strategy games easily enough, but his actual strategy is rather rudimentary. And then he just kind of quietly enjoys the evening.
