Greetings! We have a couple quick announcements, and then we will move on to event details.
First off, as per the votes, the new upgrade to the Bastion is a defensive shield, to keep monsters and such out of the Bastion. Any residents wearing an amulet will have no trouble coming in or out, but without an amulet the only way in is if someone with an amulet is kind enough to hold your hand and drag you in.
Secondly, we just wanted to remind everyone of an option you have: if, for whatever reason, you end up dropping from the Bastion, we can work your drop into the game storyline! Just let us know when you are about to drop, and we can work something in. This doesn't have to be a character death, either: there are a few options for dropping that we haven't disclosed because of plot reasons, but if you come to us about it we can share that information with you and see if you are interested. Just PM the mod journal, or send a plurk message to the mods.
Finally, it's time for some event information!
While the majority of the Ura had returned to their camp some time ago, Vee and Zee had stayed behind, thanks to Zee being hurt by the rampaging Mechanical Pyth. However, Zee is fully healed up by now, so the two boys are ready to go home. In addition, Zed will be contacting Nathaniel to arrange for a small group to meet him at the camp, though he will not be giving out specific information in the letter itself.
It seems like a pretty straightforward meeting, yes? Well, while this is going on, something very bad is going to happen, and the group that goes to see Zed is going to have to make a very difficult choice. We are not going to reveal that choice at this time, but we want to make it clear that the choice itself has no definite 'right' or 'wrong' answer, as both good and bad will happen regardless of the choice made. The difficulty comes in that each option is highly beneficial, and choosing one means sacrificing the other.
There will be a lot of danger and a small amount of fighting involved, but having strong characters involved is not required. Characters who can rationalize and think under pressure will be a benefit, but that is not required either. Any character is welcome to sign up, and any combination of characters involved can get a beneficial result from this event.
The one requirement for signing up is that the choice involved in this event must be made by the 24th of June. Because this choice will greatly impact what happens in July, we need to at least know what the result will be by the 24th so that we can plan July's event around that. So, we have decided that if the characters involved in this event do not make a choice by 11:59 pm EST on June 24th that we will proceed with the event as if the characters have chosen not to act at all. This means sacrificing both benefits and returning home empty-handed. The thread itself does not have to be finished, but the choice has to be made ICly by then to avoid having the event default to 'no choice was made'.
The event itself will run from June 19th to June 24th. We are looking for 6-8 characters to participate, and we ask that each player interested only signs up with one character. If more than 8 people sign up, we will use RNG to decide who will be involved in the event.
If you are interested in signing up, please fill out the form below and respond to the 'signup' comment thread in this post. All comments are screened, but we will unscreen the comments in threads besides the 'signup' thread.

Do you want your character to get injured/die during this event: If no, just put 'no'. If yes, specify injury or death. Also, remember that death is permanent, so if you choose to have your character die they will be dropped from the game.
Signups will close on June 15th.
